Task 1

In Task 1, which required conducting a detailed analysis of a brand or client, I made significant progress through careful planning, thorough research, and strong teamwork.

To start, my team and I divided the elements of the analysis based on individual strengths and interests. For instance, one member focused on the Brand Story, exploring the brand’s history and values, while another handled the Products/Services List. I took on the responsibility of coordinating the project, ensuring all sections aligned, and contributing to the Target Market and SWOT Analysis.

Research was a key component of this task. I utilized various resources such as the brand's official website, annual reports, social media channels, and industry publications. For the Target Market analysis, I gathered demographic and psychographic data to accurately define the audience's characteristics and preferences. In the SWOT Analysis, I collaborated with teammates to evaluate the brand’s internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats, by comparing findings with competitor insights and market trends.

We also worked together to review the brand's Vision and Mission, ensuring these aligned with its overarching business goals. For Social Media/Marketing Channels, I analyzed the brand's online presence, assessing its content strategy, engagement metrics, and audience interactions. This evaluation highlighted the effectiveness of the brand's current marketing efforts and revealed areas that could be improved.

To maintain progress, I organized regular team check-ins to review our work and resolve any issues. This collaborative approach ensured that our final submission was cohesive, comprehensive, and well-structured. Task 1 taught me the importance of meticulous research, clear communication, and strategic collaboration in conducting an in-depth brand analysis.

Task 2

In Task 2, my team and I collaborated to create a Personas Profile deck, guided by input from an agency or industry collaborator. We began by identifying four key proto-personas, drawing insights from market research and collaborator feedback. My role involved defining each persona’s characteristics, goals, and pain points, ensuring they were based on accurate data and user insights.

Team collaboration played a vital role in this task. We held regular meetings to share progress and refine our personas. Additionally, I contributed to the deck’s visual presentation, focusing on clarity and engagement. The final submission aligned closely with the brand’s goals and strategy, incorporating feedback to enhance accuracy and relevance.

This experience improved my skills in research, analysis, and crafting actionable personas, while also emphasizing the importance of teamwork and attention to detail in delivering a comprehensive and effective Personas Profile deck.

Task 3

In Task 3, my team and I worked on creating a Content Calendar and a Content Strategy for social media posts. We started by identifying key topics and themes that aligned with the brand’s objectives and target audience. Together, we brainstormed content ideas that would engage the audience while maintaining the brand’s voice and message.

For the Content Calendar, I developed a detailed weekly schedule, outlining specific post ideas for each day. This included balancing promotional content with value-driven posts to connect with the audience effectively. I also considered important dates and events to ensure the content remained relevant and timely.

I contributed to the Development Guide by outlining processes for creating and reviewing content, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and format across platforms. Additionally, I created supporting materials like post templates and content prompts to streamline the content creation process.

Collaboration with the team was crucial to ensure our strategy aligned with brand goals and that the content was both creative and strategic. This task helped me refine my organizational and planning skills while emphasizing the importance of cohesive and consistent social media content.

Task 4

In Task 4, my team and I developed a pitch deck presentation for an assigned brief, utilizing knowledge and experience from previous tasks. This required synthesizing key findings from earlier research and applying them to design applications, such as collaterals and other visual elements.

We began by gathering and analyzing data on the assigned product or brand, focusing on its strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. My role involved working with the team to organize these findings and present them clearly in the pitch deck. However, we faced challenges with time management due to tight deadlines and multiple responsibilities, leading to a rushed process for some sections.

Communication with the client was another hurdle, as their feedback was often vague or contradictory, making it difficult to fully understand their expectations. This resulted in several revisions and delayed progress. To address this, I took the initiative to communicate directly with the client, seeking clarification to ensure we aligned with their requirements.

This task taught me the importance of effective communication, clear timelines, and precise task allocation to avoid delays. Despite the challenges, I developed stronger problem-solving skills and adaptability under pressure. In the end, we delivered a comprehensive pitch deck and final design files that highlighted our findings and creative applications. However, the experience emphasized the need for better planning and communication in future projects.

Reflection

In this course of digital and the social media communication, we completed four tasks, which provided us with valuable learning opportunities, made us grow professionally and personally, and made me realize that learning teamwork is a very important factor.

Task 1 is to create persona profiles. We analyze audience characteristics, goals and pain points, which enables us to have a detailed understanding of customer needs and a primary goal in the following communication with customers. In this task, there was a lack of teamwork. Some members did not cooperate well, so we did not follow the task assignment and the efficiency was reduced. This made me realize for the first time that clear communication and sense of responsibility are very necessary in team cooperation.

In Task 2, we have developed a content calendar and strategy, which helps us to plan the overall content and determine the target. It is a great highlight to be able to combine the brand with the audience's interest. Although in this task, there are usually difficulties in the feedback from customers, and their requirements have greatly reduced our efficiency of constant revision. But it makes us pre-conditioned to work in society, to learn to get things done under pressure and adapt quickly.

Task 3: The third task is that we need to produce a presentation for publicity, which tests our creativity. We need to present the results and make the results convincing. It is worth noting that the presentation needs to attract people's attention and be consistent with the theme. Although the task was completed smoothly, the efficiency was greatly reduced because we lost some time on the first two tasks, so this experience emphasized that we need to learn to manage time and reserve buffer time for unexpected changes.

Finally, we need to combine the design application with the execution of development tasks, which enhances our ability to turn conceptual ideas into practical results, and improves our design skills to some extent.
In general, this task was not well completed in the early stage, whether in terms of team cooperation or customer feedback, which led to our low efficiency and tight time. However, it was these experiences that made us grow a lot, improved our ability to solve problems to some extent, and sharpened our professionalism in meeting customer requirements. And learned to manage time better.
