This is the font I made when I learned the initial typesetting, and I can continue to choose to make this font.

The following is an example of this font I found. This streamlined font is my favorite style.

Feedback

Week 13
General feedback: No
Specific feedback: No

Week 12
General feedback: When making FontLab, we need to pay attention to the size of the upper and lower case relative ratios, and the size of the relative ratios between symbols and letters, and don't forget to adjust the distance between characters.
Specific feedback: When importing from AI to FontLab, it is important to remove the individual lines in the process and be careful to modify the character size.

Week 11
General feedback: When making a font Presentation, it is important to remember that the main purpose is to show the font, and the rest of the design is to highlight the font.
Specific feedback: I need to finish all my characters as soon as possible.

Week 10
General feedback: It's important to be clear that you have a purpose for designing this font and what you're designing for.
Specific feedback: It is a good choice to continue with your previous font and continue to complete your entire set of fonts, because the font you made last semester is generally a complete design, the lines and ideas are clear, and it is a relatively difficult design.

Week 9
General feedback: No
Specific feedback: Good. pls continue.

Week 8
General feedback: No
Specific feedback: No

Reflection

In the learning of task 3, we continue to learn about fonts. I think it is very interesting to design a set of fonts of your own, because your own fonts will have your own design style included in them. I learned a lot of knowledge and skills about fonts in this learning process. Due to the limited time, I did not adjust fonts carefully enough. I think the line angles of some letters, such as B, M and W, are somewhat different from those of other letters, so they do not look very coordinated. I use it in many places.

《Grid Systems in Graphic Design》- Josef Müller-Brockmann

This book is a classic in the field of typography and graphic design, a comprehensive explanation of the theory and practice of grid systems, explaining their key role in organizing information and enhancing the beauty of design. Starting from the historical background of grid systems, the author introduces different types of grid structures, such as single-column grid, multi-column grid and modular grid, and analyzes their practical applications in books, magazines, advertising and web design. The book also discusses in detail how grid systems can help designers achieve information hierarchy, layout balance, and visual consistency, especially when it comes to typography, such as adjusting font size, line spacing, and spacing to improve legibility and visual appeal.

Through a large number of case studies, the authors demonstrate the flexible application of grid systems in a variety of design projects, while emphasizing the balance between innovation and regulation. Although the grid system has certain norms, designers can find creative breakthrough points in it to achieve unique visual effects. This book provides graphic designers with a solid theoretical foundation and practical guidance, and is an indispensable reference book in the field of typography and layout design.
