Week 12
Miss Vitiyaa looked at our product design and decided that stickers and badges didn't fit well with our product. She suggested that we make paper bags, billboards and cup holders, and that we put these products in an exhibition area.
Week 11
Miss Vitiyaa told us what kind of product design we needed to do, and we settled on the final beverage packaging design.
Reflection
During this study, we worked with students from SBS on a project. They are responsible for developing the product and we are responsible for designing the packaging. I benefit a lot from such cooperation. As a student majoring in design, I deeply understand the importance of this cooperation model in my future career. This experience is a very valuable practical opportunity. In the process of cooperation, I found that I still need to improve a lot in the aspects of composition and aesthetic design, so I plan to continuously improve my design ability through more learning and observation.
Special thanks to Miss Vitiyaa for her patient guidance during the mission. When my design is lacking, she helps us find our strengths and guides us on how to build on our strengths and avoid our weaknesses. At the same time, she also stressed the importance of team communication in packaging design. It was a very exciting experience to be able to do our own packaging design, and I am truly pleased that this task was successfully completed.
Further Reading
This book explores how to incorporate sustainability principles into packaging design, providing comprehensive theoretical and practical guidance for designers and brand managers. The authors emphasize that packaging design needs not only to meet functional requirements, but also to minimize environmental impact, quantifying the design's contribution to environmental protection through tools such as life cycle assessment (LCA). It introduces a variety of new materials and technologies, such as degradable plastics and recycled materials, and explores how systematic design strategies can optimize supply chains, reduce waste, and realize business value.
The authors analyze examples of successful brands, showing how sustainable packaging can enhance brand image and attract consumers' attention. She also looked ahead to future packaging trends, including the potential for smart packaging and personalized design, and how technological advances are driving the popularity of environmentally friendly packaging. This book is suitable for professionals concerned with the combination of packaging design innovation and environmental protection, and provides them with valuable tools and strategic references.
